Abstract

The term comes from the Latin mediate mediation. He was introduced in the US as a specialized term in 1970 and was taken as it is in English in the German. Mediation is required in a conflict and is made by third party, unbiased and neutral in order to find a solution acceptable to all parties. Experience has shown that, at some point in the dynamics of escalation, a conflict can not be resolved by the parties. This is where there must be a third party acceptable to everyone involved.
